Pam Longobardi introduced me to this artist a couple of years ago that she thought I would be interested in. Fred Tomaselli produces exquisite paintings with collage that are beautiful up close in person. All of his paintings are on wood panels and are made up of unorthodox material suspended in a thick layer of epoxy resin. His range of material scale from herbal plants to prescription pills. He combines these with cut out magazine and book images of flowers and human body parts. Tomaselli sees his paintings as a window into a surreal, hallucinatory universe.
